Deputy minister's Maldivian visit strengthens bilateral relations
External Affairs Deputy Minister Neomal Perera during his two-day official visit to the Maldives from July 30 to August 2, held bilateral discussions with the Maldivian Government, reviewing the existing bilateral ties between the two countries, expand political, economic and cultural relations, and also to enter into new areas of cooperation.
The Deputy Minister negotiated the immediate release of the seven fishing boats which were held in Maldivian custody and also requested Fisheries and Agriculture Minister Dr Ibrahim Didi, for speedy legal procedures when dealing with future such cases.
