Launch of book on The Historical and Political Evolution of the SLFP
The book titled The Historical and Political Evolution of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party co-authored by Dr Jayatissa de Costa and Dr Telli C Rajaratnam will be launched at the 60th Anniversary of the SLFP on September 2.

The first copy will be jointly presented by Dr De Costa and Dr Rajaratnam to President Mahinda Rajapaksa on September 2 at the SLFP convention.
Dr De Costa LLB (Sri Lanka), LLM (London), PhD (Sri Lanka) President's Counsel is also the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission.
He is a former chairman of the Law Commission.
He is an expert on election laws and the constitution of Sri Lanka and has been a visiting lecturer in law in several universities.
He has authored several books including a book on election laws.
Dr Rajaratnam LLB (Sri Lanka), LLM (London), PhD (London) is an advisor, editor of the Sri Lanka Patriot Newsline, a senior visiting lecturer in law and diplomatic relations.
He has practised as a barrister and solicitor in Australia, as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an attorney-at-law in the US and Sri Lanka.
He has also authored several books including The Dawn of Sri Lanka-The Wonder of Asia: Selected Essays on the Patriotic Legacy of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Both Dr De Costa and Dr Rajaratnam are senior members of the SLFP.
The book would be a landmark publication with intricate details of the growth of the SLFP and the contribution made by the late D A Rajapaksa, SWRD Bandaranaike and the late Herbert Sri Nissanka PC, and the successive leaders of the SLFP and how they contributed to the growth of the party.
