Lyricist Viveka is extremely happy with the response he had received for his song En Friend Pola Yaaru machaan in Nanban

Directed by Shankar, the film is the remake of bollywood hit 3 Idiots,starring Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj,Illeana, Anuya and a host of others in prominent roles..Music was scored by Harris Jayaraj ..

The lyricist who started his career with Nee Varuvai Ena had penned songs for many films and is currently working in Surya's Mattran and Hari's film among others.

He was quoted saying "All credit for the song goes to Shankar and Harris Jayaraj. Both had brought the best out of me. The song has become a huge hit among youngsters & everybody had appreciated me for the lyrics".

"People of this generation, especially youngsters in the software industry are comfortable using English. So, I do not see any harm in using English lyrics if it reaches the target audience. All my songs which had English lyrics were chartbusters, including Mambo Mamia... and Allegra.... from Kandasamy, and Stole My Heart...from Singam. On the other hand, children loved Meaw Meaw... in Kandasamy as it was easy for them to hum," he says.

The lyricist strongly believes that the lyrics of a song should be catchy and easily understandable. He adds, "Songs play a vital role in the promotion of films and hence, it's important that they are catchy and peppy. Once, the album of a film releases, it generates the initial hype and triggers interest among people. Of late, during audio launches, lyricists too are invited on stage which shows that we are being recognised in the industry. This is a very good trend and encourages lyricists to do better. There is a lot of competition in the industry and hence, all of us are trying to come up with our best."
