National awareness programme on NCDs next month
Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena will launch a National Awareness Programme on Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) countrywide from next month.
The main objective of this programme is educating the public. NCDs are on the rise at an alarming rate in Sri Lanka, a Health Ministry spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, the first discussion in this regard is to be held next month at Temple Trees under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena, all relevant health officials and line institutions are scheduled to participate in the discussion.
