English Sri Lanka launch

  • The launching of the national programme, English Sri Lanka, the free spoken English course for million youth in Sri Lanka and the Excursion Award Ceremony 2011, will be held at the Ananda College Auditorium on July 31 at 9.30 am with the participation of Higher Education Minister S B Dissanayake.

    The English Sri Lanka programme is implemented islandwide simultaneously, under the guidance of Managing Director Pujith Wijesinghe.

    This programme facilitates youth of low-income and under privileged families to undergo courses in spoken English free of charge.

    Free spoken English workshops will also be held covering all districts.

    Facilities will also be provided for journalists and those with special aptitudes, to follow free English courses.

    A magazine designed to promote English education, English Sri Lanka website and theme song will also be launched on this occasion.
